Golden Parachute
The Miami team tackles the case of a corporate jet that crashes in a swamp, leaving only one survivor as well as a mystery. One of the seven bodies was found five miles away from the crash site. Was this woman's death the result of negligence, suicide... or murder? Meanwhile, Horatio Caine must contend with the return of Megan Donner (Kim Delaney) after a six-month absence. She was once his boss but left when her husband died; now he's her superior.
Soon the team finds out that the plane's door had substandard bolts, but they didn't cause the crash. Apparently the plane was loaded with company executives on their way to deal with an SEC hearing over improprieties at their company. The woman whose body was found miles from the crash was in fact turning evidence against the company. She didn't commit suicide, but was ejected from the plane by the company's president. He was the sole survivor, but apparently the situation he found himself in - guilty of multiple homicide due to his actions - led him to hang himself. |
