Hill Harper's first book hits stores this week Hill Harper's (Dr. Sheldon Hawkes) first book, Letters to a Young Brother, hits shelves on Thursday, April 20th, aiming to be a guide to young men working their way to adulthood.
In an e-mail about the book, Harper reveals that the concept was initially turned down by one of the first publishers he went to with the concept. "In one of my book pitch meetings with another publisher, I was told point-blank, 'Hill, please don't write a book for this population, we want to do a book with you, but please not this book, you are proposing a book for a population that doesn't read,'" Harper reveals. Harper disagreed with that assessment and eventually found a home for the book with Gotham Books, a division of Penguin Putnam, one of the largest publishing houses in the world.

David Caruso Explains Miami Phenomenon In a recent interview with the Spanish La Voz de Asturias, David Caruso (Horatio Caine) talked about the secret of CSI: Miami's success.
"I believe that several elements have come together," he explained. "One is that this terrifying new world of forensic science is located in Miami, which has a hypnotic effect and a lot of glamour. In addition, there is very good chemistry between the people. On the other hand, we want to make it as original as it is possible, because, in short, we are working in the shadow of the great mother series, CSI: Las Vegas, and we needed to be ourselves, and I believe that was quite difficult to achieve... Therefore, where the series is located, the new world of forensic science and the people are some of the reasons for the success."
