Guess Who is Going on CSI NY? - posted January 23rd, 2009.

Although I usually only talk about CSI Miami on this blog, I know from talking to many of you that there are a lot of CSI NY fans who also check out this blog from time to time, and since I have a juicy piece of news about CSI NY, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to switch things up for a day and do a post about that show.

Before I tell you the news, I want to see if you can guess who I'm talking about. There is a celebrity couple that is going to be on CSI NY, and to give you a chance to guess, here are a few hints about the couple's identity:

the husband is in a rock band
the wife has a famous older sister
the couple had a baby not too long ago

So, were you able to guess which couple is going on CSI NY? If you said Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson, give yourself a pat on the back because you were right! According to the information released to the press, they will be appearing on the show on March 18th, and instead of playing themselves, they will be playing a couple that is similar to Bonnie and Clyde.

CSI Miami Kicks Off With Its Season Premiere - posted September 25th, 2008.

CSI Miami has officially returned for its seventh season, and if the first episode was any indication of what's to come, this season of CSI Miami is going to be filled with excitement.

In case you are just now starting to tune into the series, season six ended with an image of Horatio Cane's (who is played by David Caruso) broken sunglasses, which were broken when he was shot. For those of you who have the show recorded and haven't watched it yet, I won't give away what happens to Horatio, but let's just say that it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

In addition to Horatio, the season premiere (which has the title of Resurrection) is filled with all the things that loyal CSI Miami fans enjoy (and new viewers will have a great time watching). From the detectives rolling around in their Hummers to stunning looking women to large scale explosions, the season premiere went above and beyond to ensure that it kept the attention of its audience. Not only is the episode filled with lots of flash, but it also has an excellent plot with countless twists and turns.

Overall, CSI Miami fans should really enjoy watching the season premiere of the show, and viewers who are just tuning in for the first time should get a really good taste of what the show and its characters are all about. Once you finish watching the season premiere, you won't be able to wait for the next episode of CSI Miami to come on the air!

The Original CSI Loses Another Cast Member - posted July 20, 2008.

Yes everyone, the rumors are true. William Petersen, who played the much loved Gil Grissom character on the original CSI, is leaving the series. According to reports citing the producers of the show, Petersen, who has been one of the main characters of the original CSI since it debuted in the Fall of 2000, made the decision to step away from the series in the coming season (CSI's tenth season on air).

Previously, Petersen had taken a break from the series during the 2006-2007 season to perform in a play called Dublin Carol. During the time that he was absent from the show, he was replaced by a visiting investigator. The visiting investigator was played by actor Liev Schreiber.

Petersen is not the first main cast member of CSI to call it quits. Last season, Jorja Fox, who played Sara Sidle (a character that happened to be an off and on love interest of Grissom), left the series. Additionally, Gary Dourdan, who played Warrick Brown, left several weeks before he was arrested in April for drug possession.

Although there is no clear cut date yet for the last CSI episode featuring Petersen, producers of the show said that it will most likely air during the beginning of 2009. Gil Grissom will then be replaced by a new male investigator. While rumors are flying around the Internet about who will play Grissom's replacement, an actor for this role has yet to be cast.

David Caruso Explains Miami Phenomenon
In a recent interview with the Spanish La Voz de Asturias, David Caruso (Horatio Caine) talked about the secret of CSI: Miami's success.

"I believe that several elements have come together," he explained. "One is that this terrifying new world of forensic science is located in Miami, which has a hypnotic effect and a lot of glamour. In addition, there is very good chemistry between the people. On the other hand, we want to make it as original as it is possible, because, in short, we are working in the shadow of the great mother series, CSI: Las Vegas, and we needed to be ourselves, and I believe that was quite difficult to achieve... Therefore, where the series is located, the new world of forensic science and the people are some of the reasons for the success."

David Caruso Explains Miami Phenomenon

Miami has become a worldwide phenomenon, and has even beat the original CSI in the ratings in some European and Asian countries. But will its success last long? "I would love to know... I don't know. I can only tell you that I am enjoying the work that I do, for that reason I hope that it stays for a long time. The situation is that we have already arrived at 100 episodes and we are still staying quite fresh."

Caruso plans to remain on the series till the very end, but also believes if something were to happen, the show could go on without him. "Yes, I already believe it!" he said. "I believe that several different characters could be created for the series and its world would continue existing and continue being very effective. I think that the individual characters are important, but I consider that now the fictional world of Miami in which CSI develops has already been established."

But for as long as he remains on the series, don't expect him to see him working on anything else. "I will not do films while I am on the series because, as I always say, I feel sufficiently rewarded with CSI. Besides, our season lasts for 46 weeks, and I need the free time that I have left. Perhaps someday…"
